It's Spring?

I took this picture this morning, just as the sun was rising.

As I look out the windows, I can see why Michigan is referred to as a winter wonderland. The snow is beautiful. Although I'd like to go on record as saying we have had enough already!

Our giant co-op group is cancelled for today, as the roads are too treacherous and the snow is supposed to continue falling until this afternoon, for a total of about 6 inches. Funny, isn't it, that we made it through the winter months without a cancellation but now, in April, we have a snow day.

My inlaws are due to arrive home today from their winter in Florida.

Clarence's dad, from time to time, starts talking about selling their place in Florida and staying here all winter. Clarence thinks this will remind him of why he really doesn't want to do that.

I think Dad's going to have a great time firing up his backhoe and plowing the snow out of their driveway. I think he might enjoy having a little taste of winter, followed by more seasonal temperatures later this week.

Prayers for their safety as they travel are greatly appreciated.

hope you can find your thread locally since you're trying to finish your daughter's easter dress, which btw, i am impressed! i haven't sewed easter dresses in many moons. to be honest, i've only ever done it once and sadly i lent the matching pair of dresses to a friend and have not gotten them back. live and learn.

enjoy your snow day! it is snowing here as well but so far no accumulation.

  2. Hey Karen,

At least snow at this time of the year doesn't stay long...

Enjoy a forced day at home.

I'll keep your in-law's in prayer.

Thanks for the comment on the chickens. Are yours growing up fast? They do, you know...worse than kids.

Warren is "open" to the idea of getting more hens...yay!

  4. The some artic blast that brought the snow to you has blown in here with temps in the 50's tonite and highs in the 60's tomorrow. Brrrrrrrr. I know that Clarence's parents will be coming back to FL as soon as they see one of those gray days in the fall. They are in my prayers too. I heard about the piano moving from Unc. What a blessing. This blog is a great way to keep up with all of you. The girls are beautiful, even in hair nets. LAS

  5. We lived in Colorado until 5 years ago and I really miss the snow. These late snows in the spring were always the make or break with those on the fence about living there. I loved it. I miss it. Sob, sob, I must go get a tissue now. Thanks for an awesome blog! God Bless!
