Allison's birthday occurred while we were camping. Julianne pointed out to me that I should put something on the blog about it so today we're going back in time a couple weeks.
First things first-we must always hold the gift over the recipient's head and ask "Eat it, wear it, or play with it?" Play with it is the most popular choice most of the time.
Allison had very few requests for her birthday. This picture gives you an idea of how complex a person she is, though. How many girls ask for a knife so they can take up whittling, yet are equally delighted with rhinestone-studded flip flops?First things first-we must always hold the gift over the recipient's head and ask "Eat it, wear it, or play with it?" Play with it is the most popular choice most of the time.
Since asking for a library card for her birthday worked for Julianne, Allison decided to try it too. She was just as happy as her sister to get her own card.
We are usually at family camp for her birthday so she was very excited to receive gifts of money from several relatives. You see, the horses from horse camp don't go home until the end of the week of family camp. That means that she can take hour-long trail rides if she has the money for it. So, cash was a lovely gift for her (and it sure makes shopping easy for all of us!). She ended up getting to go on three trail rides during camp and still had some money left to be able to tag along with Aunt Kathy and Julianne on their shopping trip last week.
We may now return to our regularly scheduled programming.
